Hamburger Buns

Preparation

  • Prepare dough: combine 3/4 cup water, yeast, 1tsp sugar and proof for 5 mins

  • Add 3 cup flour , 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, 1/4 cup sugar, egg, 2tbps warm butter

  • Kneed

  • Cover bowl for 30-60 minutes – double in size

  • Deflate, separate into 8 parts and turn into balls placing on 2 cookie sheets w/ parchment paper

  • Let rise for 30-60 minutes

  • Bake at 375 for 15-18 minutes, brushing with egg wash + seeds after 13 minutes

  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 package active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp room temp butter or extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 egg

  • 1 egg white + 1tbsp water
